On the other hand, Amazon introduces only one eero model in each network category. Eero max 7 is the first wifi7 model released to the market, it is the highest eero model so far. In the middle range category, you can find eero 7 pro. And the low end category, eero 7 is the most popular among the others.

Most Asus middle to high end products feature dual WAN support. On the other hand, eero products come with build-in Zigbee smart home. This Zigbee is a smart home hub that allows you to connect and control low-power smart home devices with Alexa. So, you don’t need to purchase separate smart home hub.

Asus vs eero 7 comparable products

Unlike eero that offers one series in each of network category range, Asus does few models. The following table 1 shows you three models of Asus wifi7 series which each of them is comparable with eero 7 in low end, middle tier and high end categories.

In low end category, Asus BD5 dual band be500 is comparable with eero 7, Asus BT6 tri-band be9400 should be comparable with eero 7 pro in middle range category, while in the high end category Asus BQ16 quad band be25000 should be comparable with eero max 7.

Asus bd5 is a dual band mesh wifi 7, with the absent of 6GHz band which is the nature feature of wifi 7 standards. While the other two series, come with 6GHz band for faster, cleaner and less interference band. Both BD5 and BT6 support internet speed up to 2.5Gbps, ideal for any home size or business need. However, when your business requires multi-gig 10G internet speed you may consider Asus BQ16 that comes with 10G WAN port.

Asus be5000 vs eero 7

Asus be5000 (bd5) is one of low end products which is comparable to eero 7. Both are budget friendly products to taste the latest generation of wifi technology (wifi7). Technically both products are the same, the same total aggregated bandwidth, the same Ethernet ports, the same quad processor, but there are couple of things different.

Asus BE5000
Larger memory

As general eero 7 comes with built-in zigbee for smart home hub, and see that the memory capacity is much larger than Asus. So what is the function of larger memory capacity for eero router? The larger memory both RAM and Flash is used to manage and control high traffic and simultaneous multiple loads and other complex algorithm for eero Truemesh technology. No wonder that eero is popular with its high performance in responsive, efficient and smooth network for connected devices including mobile devices, computers, NAS, and also your webcams. Built-in Zigwee and large capacity of Flash memory are advantages for all eero products as opposed to Asus. On the other hand, Asus BT6 and other high end products support USB port for dual WAN feature for either load balance or failover scenario.

eero pro 7
Multi-Gig Ports

Asus BT6 comes equipped with more Ethernet ports, supports up to 2.5Gbps internet speed. However, eero 7 pro comes with two 5G ports for both WAN and LAN ports.

Asus BQ16 vs eero max 7

The high end mesh products offered by Asus are BQ16 series. There two different series, the standard BQ16 which is quad band BE25000; and the Pro series is BE30000.

Asus BQ16 is comparable with eero max 7; take a look at the following table 4 below to help you get insights between the products. Technically the total aggregated bandwidth for Asus BQ16 quad-bands is larger than eero 7 max tri-band.

eero max 7
Multi-Gig Ports

Both BQ16 and eero max 7 come with two 10G WAN/LAN Ethernet ports. However, Asus gives you option to use both 10G ports for LAN connection only if you just need 1G Internet speed. I have no idea if in the real world you require two 10G LAN ports. One 10G for high speed NAS that comes with 10G port is reasonable. What about the other 10G LAN port, for high speed server probably for office use?
